Data collection
FW CHECK does not collect personal data, analytics, advertising identifiers, diagnostics, or usage telemetry. The app does not require an account and does not include third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
Data stored on your Mac
Device names, manufacturer page URLs, source-selection rules, detected versions, check history, and app settings are stored locally in the app's macOS sandbox. Private .fwcheck backup files are created only when you choose to export them to a location selected through the macOS file panel.
Network access
FW CHECK connects to HTTP or HTTPS web pages selected by you in order to read the version information you asked it to monitor. Page content is processed for this app functionality and is not sent to Pervasor. The operators of visited websites may receive standard network information, such as your IP address and request metadata, under their own privacy policies.
Notifications and background checks
If you enable monitoring and notifications, macOS may run FW CHECK's bundled background helper at scheduled times and may display local notifications. These operations are handled on your Mac.
Data sharing
FW CHECK does not sell, rent, or share your app data with Pervasor or advertisers. The app has no Pervasor-operated server for device records or firmware history.
Data retention and deletion
Your records remain on your Mac until you edit or delete them, replace them through the app's restore flow, or remove the app's data using macOS. Exported .fwcheck files remain wherever you save them and are controlled by you.
Children
FW CHECK is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. Because the app does not collect personal data, it does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, this policy will be updated before or when the relevant version is released. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
