Where is the main application window?

MIDI FLUSH runs exclusively in your macOS menu bar under the lightning bolt icon. Clicking the icon opens the status and configuration panel. There is no Dock icon or standard desktop window.

How do I enable a MIDI device?

Connect your USB-MIDI interface or synthesizer. In the status panel under MIDI OUTPUTS, click the toggle next to your device. A 'Confirm Device' alert appears; click 'Enable' to confirm that output destination.

What happens if no MIDI hardware is connected?

The panel displays 'No MIDI outputs detected'. In this state, triggering Panic safely skips transmission because no physical destinations are confirmed.

What messages are sent during Panic?

MIDI FLUSH transmits standard MIDI CC messages across all 16 channels on confirmed physical outputs: Control Change 64 = 0 (Sustain Off), Control Change 123 = 0 (All Notes Off), Control Change 120 = 0 (All Sound Off), and Pitch Bend = 8192 (Center).

Does the status confirm that my synth muted?

The status badge confirms transmission from macOS to your physical output (displaying 'Sent to 1 device' or 'Sent to N devices'). Actual sound cessation depends on whether the connected hardware recognizes and responds to standard MIDI All Notes Off and All Sound Off CC messages.

Does MIDI FLUSH silence virtual instruments in my DAW?

No. MIDI FLUSH is designed specifically to transmit Panic sequences to external hardware instruments via confirmed physical MIDI outputs. It does not monitor, alter, or mute software instruments inside your DAW or audio mixer channels.
